Cora Rowland

My name is Cora Rowland. I am 18, and I just graduated from Taft Union High School. My sponsor is the Taft Host Lions Club. I have been a part of the Lions Club for about 8 years now, helping with Cruise Nights, cooking, fundraising, and so many other things within the community.

All through high school I was very involved in sports, playing volleyball and softball. I loved softball and it taught me how important communication and teamwork is. I was also in the Oil Technology Academy for three years. This gave me many opportunities to meet new people from all different work fields in our community.

My goal for the future is to become a paramedic. I will be attending Taft College and taking their EMT class to get certified and begin working. I love helping people, I work well in high stress situations, and I think this career is perfect for me.
