Abby McKay

Hello, my name is Abby McKay. I am 19 years old, and I have been fortunate enough to be sponsored by the Taft Moose Lodge as a Maid of Petroleum. While attending Taft Union High School, I played softball for three years, was a cheerleader for four years, and graduated with a 3.5 grade point average.

I am enrolled in the Taft College Promise Program and in my final year, on track to graduate with an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Studies, with a focus on Math and Science. I am also enrolled in the Respiratory Therapist program at San Joaquin Valley College. There, I will earn an additional Associate’s Degree along with licensure.

I have consistently been employed since graduating from high school. Participating in this pageant has been something I have been looking forward to since I was a little girl watching the Maids of Petroleum.

I am thankful for the opportunity to be involved in the history of Taft and Oildorado. I have a great respect for the oil industry as it has served my family through three generations.
